Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, aka Ari Lennox, was born in Washington, D.C. on April 26th on the 26th of March, 1991. She's an American musician and singer. She was the first artist to be signed by J. Cole to his record label Dreamville Records. In the month of October Ari Lennox dropped her debut EP Pho. The EP was where she gained recognition. The album that she released as her debut album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her tracks on the internet in 2012, when she released her mixtape debut Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in 2013. The year 2014 saw her continue to share her music over the web, including her own released single Bound. She was featured in Omen's Elephant Eyes and from Sweat It Out, on the 21st of July, 2015. J. Cole was interested by her talent and was looking to collaborate together with Rihanna. On the 8th of December, it was confirmed that she had been contracted to Dreamville Records. Backseat was a track she performed with Cozz on the Revenge of the Dreamers II collaborative album. In October 2016, she released her first EP, Pho. Ari Lennox performed the song Change by J. Cole as well as opening The 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. She was accompanied by EarthGang. In 2018, she was able to appear on two songs with her labelmates EarthGang and EarthGang on Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. On July 16 2018 Ari Lennox released the first single, Whipped Cream of her album debut Shea Butter Baby with an accompanying music video that was released on September 5. Then on November 9 the singer released two new singles, the 40 Shades of Choke as well as Grampa. Two singles more were released by her on November 13 Pedigree and No One. Shea Butter Baby is a song that she performed together with Cole on the soundtrack to Creed II on November 16th. The track was released as a single on its own in February 2019 to coincide with her debut album. In February 2019 the music video for this track was launched. The song has received more than three million YouTube views within a week. In support of the track She toured together with 6LACK in December 2018 on the From East Atlanta With Love Tour.
